Community Reviews
KitchenAid kitchen shears are sharp, handy for everyday prep, and have held up well for some long-term use. The red pair is priced around $8, though similar black versions have sold for less and other kitchen shears with removable blades or multi-pack options can cost about the same. The main drawback is cleaning, since the blades do not fully separate, and rust at the joint has been reported. A solid basic pair if easy cleaning is not a must.
Common Questions (4)
Yes, they're described as sharp and easy to use, and multiple buyers say they stayed sharp for years with regular kitchen use. One report says they held up well after nearly 3 years, while another says they were still sharp after a sale purchase last July.
No. The blades cannot be separated fully, so a full clean is not possible. That makes them less convenient for raw meat prep or any use where you want to disassemble the shears for thorough washing.
The red version is only the better deal if you specifically want red. The black version is described as usually $7.99 and sometimes dropping to $6.99, so the red listing may not be the lowest-priced option.
They can rust at the joint, and one report says rust appeared within a month. If you want a longer-lasting pair, that's a reason to consider a different model or spend more.
