This DEWALT 12 volt screwdriver is a compact, light-duty tool that shines for cabinets, electrical work, and other small screw jobs where a drill driver or impact driver feels like overkill. The clutch, variable speed, and lower RPM make it easier to control torque and avoid stripping delicate screws, and the 1 quarter inch quick swap chuck keeps bit changes fast. It can still handle occasional longer screws and even some light outdoor work. The main caution is that it is not an impact driver, and some comments question whether the 12 volt line has much future support.
Common Questions (5)
Yes. It is smaller and lighter than a drill driver, with a clutch and lower RPM that give more control and reduce over-tightening on small screws, outlets, cabinets, and furniture assembly. It is meant for light-duty screwdriving, not impact-driver-style high-torque work.
It can handle more than just tiny screws, including 3-inch screws into studs and about 100 feet of cedar fence pickets on a 3Ah battery. It is still best suited to small and medium jobs, with the clutch helping set depth and avoid stripping.
Yes. It has a 15-setting clutch and variable trigger speed, which helps match torque to the task and avoid stripping threads or damaging delicate materials.
The 12V line is described as solid and long-lasting, with one older screwdriver still running after about 10 years. A caveat is that DEWALT's 12V lineup is seen as limited going forward, so it makes the most sense if you specifically want the lighter 12V form factor.
Yes, but the displayed price can change based on selection. It showed $149 initially and then dropped to $99 after choosing pickup.

On more thought yeah I'm more for the Milwaukee here. Oops out of stock already. IDK if they give you the deal price if you put in your email and buy it later.
This is strictly for small/medium screws and electrical boxes, I believe.
Carpenter but I guess that don't matter much for this tool. I was thinking of picking one up for furniture making but I think the 5 in 1 would serve me better.
