This Dell Tower Plus looks like a strong out of the box workstation and light gaming box, with the Core Ultra 7 265, 32GB of RAM, and RTX 5060 Ti making it appealing for photo editing, everyday pro work, and games like Overwatch or Valorant. The price also lands below rough parts estimates, and the case has room for extra SATA drives and an extra M.2 slot. The main drawbacks are Dell's proprietary motherboard, power supply, and case design, which make upgrades and repairs harder, plus the 8GB GPU and 460W PSU limit future headroom. A solid fit if the current configuration is enough.

I will always be envious of those that live close to a Microcenter.

My "local" Micro Center just restocked on these. I wonder if $999 is gonna be the forever price. If they just had a bit better video card and maybe a bit larger power supply, I would have probably already jumped on one. I'm still tempted and I would have to drive an hour to pick it up, which feels like a stupid idea and aligns perfectly with me.

How are you supposed to play games on this? There's no RBGs?
Just write RGB on a post it and stick that to the case where you can see.

Looks like some stores are fully restocked. Microcenter may have gotten another shipment from Dell. Holding out for $900. Big Grin

Is this worth driving 4 hours to grab at a microcenter ?

Have you used Win11?! Big Grin

I'm using my 9-year-old XPS right now and I like it so much, I bought a refurbished one as a backup.

If I needed to purchase a new PC, I would install win10 over it.
Yes, I use Win 11 every day at work. No big changes from Win 10 from my perspective. My immediate need is for Turbotax 2026 since it is not Win 10 compatible.

There is a similar if not better deal at Costco except reviews are mixed
Disregard - I saw the processor was not Ultra7 265. Got confused. The Dell is still the deal of the century. Might drive 4 and half hours to grab me one.

Solid box. Only downside is limited upgrade options due to OEM Box issues.

But for this PC out of the box? It's an awesome price, do it.

In this market is amazing

265 is a REALLY good pro cpu. basically best youd want to buy
32GB ram worth a house
5060TI 8gb more than enough for pro work, and can game well enough (esp with DLSS)
beast

Why not just go all out for the Aurora 1250 then? Better future proofing too.
