Great price on a 1/2 scale death star. Although I worry about the gravitational disruption...

One would think that half-scale Death Star would be more expensive to ship.

You might want to fix the title of your post. 1/2 scale would mean that the model is half the size of the real thing. That would make for one huge model, or one really, really small Death Star. (Should be what @NotBuscemi said: 1/2,700,000 and 1/14,500.)

Where would one recommend building this at 1/2 scale? I'm thinking my backyard might not be big enough.

For those who aren't mathematically inclined, what's the actual size in earth units so I can know if this will fit anywhere in my room?

They are both very small. Each one will fit in the palm of your hand (Star Destroyer is 6 inches long).

Pretty small. I looked up photos on Amazon and the Star Destroyer fits in the palm of your hand. They look nice and detailed, but they are teeny tiny.

Maybe a long time ago galaxies far far away were really really small.
