These TP-Link Tapo mini smart plugs are mainly valued for simple scheduling and power monitoring, especially for lamps, holiday decorations, and checking how much electricity devices use. The app can track runtime and estimate running cost after entering your kilowatt hour rate, and the plugs are rated for 15 amps. The main caveats are that this version is 2.4 gigahertz only and does not support Apple HomeKit or Matter, so compatibility depends on your setup. A practical pick if you want basic smart control and energy tracking.

  • The plugs can be used to monitor power usage across devices and help reveal higher electricity draw.

  • The plugs support 15-amp rated use when connected to a power strip within the total draw limit.

  • The plugs let you track runtime and estimate running cost in the app using your kWh price input.

  • The Matter-certified Tapo Smart Plug Mini (P110M) can work across multiple smart home platforms.

  • Some listings or variants may not be Matter compatible, which can force using different apps for different products.

  • The non-Matter version may not work as expected with IKEA motion sensors that use the Matter standard.

  • The plugs are limited to 2.4 GHz support, which may be less ideal for routers that hide 2.4 GHz bands.

  • Apple HomeKit support is not available on this plug model.

4pack for $26 is cheaper if you need that many.

Edit: nvm, it doesnt get the 25% cash back. so order 2 packs of 2 would be cheaper

Will these work with Google home, and triggered by the IKEA motion sensor? I'm using eero with a Chromecast. Pardon, I am completely brand new at this. Nothing is set up yet

These plugs are great! You can track how long the item that's plugged into it was running for and if you input the cost of kWH into the app it will calculate how much it cast to run that plugged in item.

looks like the IKEA motion sensors use the Matter standard so you may want the Matter version of the smart plugs. I don't have any Matter devices so i'm not 100% sure it'll work.

I think there is a matter version of this plug that also qualifies for the 25% off that is only a few $ more

These are all being sold down since they only have 2.4 ghz support. We've pretty much moved on to 5 and 6 ghz and many routers don't even expose the 2.4 ghz bands by default. For many with installed WiFi and 2.4-6ghz support these are still fine for several years.

https://a.co/d/0er4iOTN this is a different type of matter version. I don't know if it qualifies, however it's significantly more expensive.
