good luck with any hardwood thicker than 4 inches I have a plug in one and it barely gets through it

You have to change the chain to higher quality. Also for 4" oak you should have more serious chainsaw. This is more for small work around the house. Essentially you are buying chainsaw with 2 batteries for around $20. Milwaukee 6" without batteries is close to $150. I have both. Of course M is much better but hello, it is not the same product . For the price it works pretty well for light job.
