The price is starting to fall already.
Not surprising, smart business move on their part.

Wonder how low it will ultimately go by the end of the year.

Wow, this was a good deal at 900 a few weeks ago, now 850. Been holding out for an X3800H but if these onkyos keep dropping I may have to make a move

My guess would be $1600, might dart to $1500.

My guess, once pricing comes out, they won't go as low.

The new models will be pricey & the only real sonic benefit will be Dirac ART, not worth the cost ime.

This is only advantageous if you need the extra two channels.
Audible wise unlikely you would hear any big difference, if at all.

I don't want to keep posting about my experience I'm going through with Adorama, but I just had to return an rz30 because it was Not new antenna falling off and hdmi control issues sending into frenzy. I returned it as defective within the 5 day window. Never got any update on return for a week after I checked ups and they received it. I sent an email documenting problems and called and rest assured no return shipping should be deducted or 15% restocking fee. I finally received refund email and they deducted 15% over a hundred dollars stating item was in used condition. No crap they sent me a used item. I looked for bbb. Adorama store front in nyc is accredited bbb but parent company with whom we deal with online is not affiliated and has a rating of F because of unreasoned complaints. I called on this fee and they said they would send it to return processing litigation and i should receive the difference in 2-7 days but there is documentation of that phone call received. They also ship in manufacturing packaging and if you don't click the box for insurance if someone takes your item and you receive and empty box then it's on you. Even if you do have the insurance you have to deal with it all. I've lived and learned that Adorama sells so much refurb, good luck knowing what you're getting and they can delay like they did with me. Initially telling me to contact the manufacturer for the problem with my unit, if I did I would have fell outside the 5 day defective policy. Just be careful, many good experiences and many bad and they can delay and hide behind emails and call wait times once they know what your calling about. I actually got hung up on after 20 minute hold once I was directed to tier 2 support for my wrong refund. Just becareful great price but must question at what cost. Cost me over $100 and only next step is through my credit card company if it isn't made right.

Well the 3800 does offer everything the new models will.

If you don't need 11 channels, the RZ30 for $700 is the better buy ime.

This is the reason why I went to a Best Buy store and had them price match my RZ30 to adorama's price. I read on a post previously that someone had gone to a Best Buy store and did a price match. I tried through a chat online and also a online phone call and both had said that they can't price match to adorama since they are not on their list of places for price matching, but both had said that if you go to the store they are more flexible in price matching. I went 10 days ago to the store and they priced matched adorama's price with no problem at all. Also you know that it is a brand new product from them and if there are issues during the warranty period you can bring it back to Best Buy and they will take care of sending it to Onkyo. I bought mine when adorama had it for $749, so I'm going to see if Best Buy will give an adjustment to the new lower price. I wasn't able to go last weekend when they had the sale for $700. I'm still within the 15 days, but I'm probably pushing my luck for it to happen.

This seems like a solid deal for the price. Wish my Denon X4700 had more than one 2.1 HDMI port and I didn't have to use that break out box since that HDMI port was faulty or whatever at release. Still does everything I need tho.

It is actually 120 W/Ch (8 ohms, 20 Hz-20 kHz, 0.08% THD, 2-ch driven, FTC); not 20 W/Ch. Same mistake every time it gets posted here.

I have this, it is an awesome receiver. Got it at the $750 mark, that briefly showed up on their Ebay store.

What's the cheapest new Onkyo receiver available? I bought a new OLED TV for my bedroom but my old Onkyo doesn't recognize eARC HDMI apparently.

Assuming you're looking at this because of Dirac.
I would suggest looking into A1EVO Express.
It basically will give you both Dirac Live and DLBC performance at no cost.
It's the easy iteration to use and does a very good job imo.
