If you want this glue gun, I would suggest getting the glue gun without the battery combo. It's $52 but includes a free accessory - which is a 2.0 Ah battery, so comes out $8 cheaper than this.

It looks like the tool only glue gun also comes with the 10 glue sticks, making it cheaper than the bundle for the same items.

I'm not exactly a hot gluing aficionado, but I bought the first version of this (I'm assuming mine is single-temperature, don't know if the nozzle is removable, doesn't have a drip tray) probably 2015 or so. It was the first and only "full-sized" glue gun I've owned.

Do be aware that it's big and dispenses large amounts of glue, which can lead to finger burns for small crafty things, but also puts a smile on your face when solidly gluing large surfaces with high-temperature glue faster than it can cool off.

It looks great and all, but the thought of adding nearly a pound to the weight of the thing just to have a battery that, for most DIYers, is way overkill, just kinda says 'No thanks' to me. I would be happy with one that uses a pair of rechargeable AAs and lasts for 30 minutes on a charge.

I have this, and it's a bit too big for most DIY projects. One good thing about this, is that the larger glue sticks last. My projects binge eat thru those smaller sticks. I have the first version of this, and I love it. I use it with the 9ah battery so apparently the weight doesn't bother me as it does others, but I'm not doing terribly detailed work with it either.

A bit of heft makes it slightly more difficult to use but loads easier to set down when you don't need it actively.
Having said that. I own the slightly different model of this where the battery powers a base and the gun lifts out entirely, so you have to use the gun briefly and set it back down to get it heated again. That base also includes a little area for the extra drops of hot glue to land when you set it down. I prefer this the most as I never really need glue for more than a few second bursts and it solves both the issue of having a cord get in the way, as well as maneuvering a heavy battery around while crafting.
