We use these at my work to assemble gear boxes. They last a very long time being used every day. As a diy or even mechanic they should last you a decade or more under normal use.

Yeah, it's mainly about size and weight.

If you've got the P262, this is about 2" shorter and more than a pound lighter, which probably isn't a big deal unless you're using it a lot.

But if you've got the big high-torque, the weight and length difference is pretty significant.

This is a solid deal on a 3/8 stubby that is certainly great for every-day mechanic'n and everything in between. Highly recommended.

Just wanted to add my experience today when I went to pick up one locally:

I was having trouble actually finding this impact in the store, so I chose to just order 'for pickup' while I was standing in the store. Obviously a few moments after I ordered, a lady came to pull the order.

When she unlocked the cage below to pull the free 2AH battery, I noticed it was a single clamshell style package and extremely dusty.. and just thought to check the date code in the battery; it was actually date coded 2023, which of course gave me a moment of pause.

I then noticed behind the clamshell batteries were 'newer' models that were set to replace the old ones as they sold the old ones out. I simply asked the lady to please let me get one of the 'new' models.

The new models were in a box instead of plastic clamshell… and the new ones were dated 2025.

Also, the new 'updated' model has one of the small chargers in the box with them. (The ones that just attach to the stem of the battery?

The replacement model is listed as PBP003A.

TLDR: Check the model of battery they give you and try and ask for one of the 'newer' models that are in a box, as it comes with a charger and seems to be a lot fresher.

Would this be good for removing lug nuts for occasional tire rotations?

Yes.

I had to remove some rust welded bolts off of my car and it worked really well.

Just curious. I have a 1/2" Ryobi and sockets. Why would I need this and 3/8 sockets. Just smaller and lighter for easier tasks? Why have both?

my Ryobi 1/2 impact wrench can't even break 85 ft lb of torque. Anyone has experience with their warranty? Do you have to register your product within a certain time frame within purchase?

No. Also they started banning people for doing that.

I have the 1/2" version. I use it with dewalt "20V" batteries and an adapter. It's quite powerful.

I'm tempted to jump on this deal, especially with the battery included.
I've been using the 1/2" version from Ryobi (model number P262) for a year or so and use it all the time when working on my cars. Works great for lug nuts and suspension work, but a bit much for everything else.
