Yeah, that's a problem. Would like to know which connection has issues: Bluetooth, 2.4, Wired... all 3?
I bit on this deal because it's cheap and was looking for a 2nd controller for travel. My controller arrived this morning and I found this was a big issue:
You cannot map the back buttons without using the MSI Center software. Once you download the software it prompts you to update the firmware for the controller. However, the latest firmware release bricks the controller; as in Windows doesn't even recognize it.
You cannot leave it on an earlier firmware version and use the software as there is no way to skip the prompt to update firmware. You can reset the controller to factory settings using the reset hole at the bottom of the controller, but then you just get stuck in the firmware upgrade loop above.
No coupon for me, but the price is decent at $26. I'd personally just get an 8BitDo Ultimate 2C, GameSir Nova Lite, or Anbernic RG P01 for the same or less. All three of those have Hall-Effect sticks, and the Ultimate 2C and RG P01 have Hall triggers as well, like this GC300. The Anbernic gamepad is underrated for the features it has, particularly if you need a 6-axis gyro. If RGB matters to you, it has it around the sticks. Interesting note: the body if the RG P01 appears to be a nearly direct copy of the Bl8BitDo's Ultimate 2C.
Gampad - Hall Sticks - Hall Triggers - 6-Axis Gyro - Battery - Extras?
MSI GC300 - No - Yes - No - 600mAh - Back Paddles, trigger switch for short/long pull modes
8BitDo Ult 2C - Yes - Yes - No - 480mAh - Extra bumper buttons
Anbernic RG P01 - Yes - Yes - Yes - 600mAh - Back Paddles, RGB sticks
Gamesir Nova Lite - Yes - No - No - 600mAh - Usually comes with a case

Amazon link for "Anbernic RG P01" plz?
Seems Amazon doesn't have it at all, Or it's a generic name?
The first one is definitely one... it even has the Anbernic logo on it! 🤣 "GiipGoop RG P01," but the pictures are sure enough the exact controller. The 2nd item is also the same controller. You'll definitely pay less if you buy from AliExpress.
As such, I'd recommend buying them from AliExpress. Their website's US store supply is sold out, leaving the only option as ship direct from China for a ridiculous $22, so I would just buy from their AliExpress store instead. They're a well known company in the retro handheld community, and the limited reviews I've seen for this controller are quite positive, as long as you're okay with the grip angle.
Aliexpress links are goofy. This link below should be for Anbernic's US distribution store on AliExpress. I'm actually waiting until the AliExpress Valentine's Day Sale starts before I buy one, as there are coupons that activate on 2/9 that should make it even cheaper as long as they don't sell out.

I'll be returning this.

Also, if you do get one, make sure to upgrade the firmware. I've heard it fixes some connectivity issues. Link below to Anbernic's firmware updates.
