I purchased the 2-pack 18-inch fans back in 2023, and they're working like brand new, no weird noise, no issues.

No, the blades are made of aluminum, which makes it harder for dust to accumulate than plastic. Also, it's got metal clips on the edges of the fan guard so you can easily remove it and wipe it clean.
