This open box Pixel 10 Pro XL stands out for near new condition at a steep discount, especially when the unit can be inspected in store or at pickup. The phone uses eSIM, and some units may need setup or carrier activation steps, including checking unlock and bootloader settings. Restocking fees are a recurring concern on open box returns, with checkout warnings and fee disputes reported, though in store inspection can help avoid surprises. A practical pick if you want flagship hardware and can verify the exact unit before leaving.

  • Inspecting the open-box unit before purchase can reveal near-new condition.

  • Picking up an open-box unit in-store can allow comparing multiple Excellent-rated devices.

  • Some open-box units can be checked for unlock readiness before activation.

  • A $45 restocking fee can apply on open-box returns unless the device is defective.

  • Checkout can show a restocking-fee warning for open-box purchases.

  • Restocking fees may require arguing with a manager to get them removed.

  • eSIM setup can add hassle because the device uses eSIM.

I picked up one of these at a Best Buy Outlet today. The sales rep was very helpful and opened up two, both rated in Excellent condition, so I could pick the better one. Neither had any damage but one was a bit more smudged so I went for the cleaner one. So far so good!

Bait and switch anyways -- BB won't ship - -wants you to come to store and be sold something else as one 1 in stock at this location for everything

I got one in IL, got open-box good condition for $569 + tax.
Ensured to open-box in store, removed the ESIM for T-Mobile which showed up. They said it may be added as part of testing in geek squad. Double checked in developer options that it allows to unlock bootloader.

just in case, it helps - open box unlocked devices wont have $45 restocking. Restocking fee applies for items which are to-be activated on carriers.
Unlocked devices will still have a restocking fee. They charge it on anything that can be "activated". I've had to argue to get the fee waived on open box items before.

I was tempted but realized that it uses eSim now. Really don't want to hassle with that 😐
That's the main reason I didn't upgrade last year.
