try Osprey. You will never go back to anything else.

Community Reviews

Oakley's Kitchen Sink and Bathroom Sink backpacks stand out for rugged build quality and long service life, with the Kitchen Sink repeatedly holding up through years of travel, commuting, hiking, rock climbing, and rough handling. The design gets praise for its cool look, metal details, lid closure, and useful storage, while the Bathroom Sink RC in coyote is described as great quality but on the small side. The main drawbacks are weight, bulk, and a clunky, overbuilt feel that can run hot and sag under load. Warranty claims are also disputed, so the value depends on whether you want durability more than comfort.

motorcycle commuters and deployment/cross-country travelers who want a mainstay backpack because people report the Kitchen Sink held up for years of abuse (commuting on a motorcycle, deployment, camping, and travel) and the lid closure helps when it's stuffed to the brim.
CoralRailway7965
people who need a tough bag for rough handling (like hiking/rock climbing or tossing it around) because owners say their Kitchen Sink backpacks stayed tear-free for 10+ years even after hiking, rock climbing, and throwing it around.
VictorB6150
gym-goers and car campers who want a durable everyday carry because commenters say Oakley backpacks are used for the gym or car camping (and are "completely different" from what they'd choose for heavy mountain biking/hiking).
Falqon
buyers who value warranty support and can visit an Oakley store because one commenter says Oakley offers a lifetime warranty with replacement at an Oakley store if you have issues.
ThisCharmingMan
people shopping the Bathroom Sink RC who like a compact, "tacticool" look because a buyer says the coyote version has great quality with metal details/clips, even though it's on the smaller side.
joosty

buyers who need a clearly documented lifetime warranty for wear-and-tear because commenters dispute Oakley's warranty coverage-one says they couldn't find proof of lifetime coverage and another points to Oakley's warranty page showing only 1 year and very limited coverage.
CoralRailway7965 big mike
hikers or mountain bikers planning to carry around ~30 lbs because one commenter says they wouldn't use Oakley for that and prefers other bags for that kind of load.
Falqon
EDC users who care about weight distribution and back support because a commenter says the Kitchen Sink feels big/clunky, becomes saggy/droopy with massive foam that traps heat/sweat, and distributes weight less efficiently than an Osprey with rigid structure.
Slimeyface
people who want a lightweight backpack because multiple commenters call the Kitchen Sink heavy (including one who stopped using it for years due to its non-negligible weight).
lyrebird
people who are sensitive to checkout/payment issues because one commenter reports their credit card was charged even though the website refused to place the order, requiring several days to get a refund.
NavyTerrier1551

The Oakley Kitchen Sink backpack can handle years of travel abuse without developing small tears or rips.
GreyOctopus264 t_w_Fused813
Oakley's warranty process may involve taking the bag to an Oakley store for a replacement under a lifetime warranty claim.
ThisCharmingMan RepFree83
The Kitchen Sink backpack can fit shoes or work boots between the lid closure and main storage area.
CoralRailway7965
The Bathroom Sink RC backpack in coyote can arrive with great quality and metal clips that add a tacticool feel.
joosty

The Kitchen Sink backpack can feel heavy due to metal elements and massive foam backing that absorbs sweat.
lyrebird Slimeyface zzTurtlePickzz
The Kitchen Sink backpack can become saggy and droopy because it lacks a supportive structure for carrying weight.
Slimeyface
The Kitchen Sink deal can feel less attractive when a better-made, better-warrantied Osprey option is available for the same price.
Dah-Dee
Checkout can fail by refusing to place the order while still charging a credit card, which may delay the refund.
NavyTerrier1551

Common Questions (5)

Yes. It has held up for 6 to 20+ years in use across travel, commuting, hiking, rock climbing, motorcycle riding, deployment, and being tossed around, with reports of no tears or rips and still looking brand new.
GreyOctopus264 Shake-N-Bake t_w_Fused813
It is notably heavy, with metal exterior details and a dense build that some find non-negligible even before loading it. The tradeoff is durability and a structured, overbuilt feel rather than a lightweight travel pack.
VictorB6150 lyrebird zzTurtlePickzz Slimeyface
The warranty claim is not clear-cut: one comment points to Oakley's warranty page showing 1 year and very limited coverage, while another says the bags supposedly have a lifetime warranty for possible exchange. For wear-and-tear protection, the safer reading is limited coverage rather than a broad lifetime guarantee.
RepFree83 Slimeyface CoralRailway7965 big mike
It works well for gym use, car camping, motorcycle commuting, and hauling gear, but it is not the best choice for hiking or carrying about 30 lbs over distance. The pack is described as big, clunky, saggy without much support structure, and less efficient than Osprey for EDC or load-bearing comfort.
Falqon Slimeyface CoralRailway7965 Slimeyface
The Kitchen Sink is the larger 34L pack, while the Bathroom Sink is 21L. The Bathroom Sink RC in coyote was described as great quality but kind of small, making it the smaller option for lighter carry.

FYI, looks like they upped their prices on the Sinks, now $99.99 and $79.99.

yeah, I finally decided to pull the trigger on the bathroom sink and the price had gone up, 80 is still honestly pretty good but now I'm back on the fence about it

Still a good deal at $99, as they sell originally for over $240

Still a good deal, but it hurts my slick-dealing heart to know that five minutes ago they were willing to sell it to me for less, especially when I now see I can get a better-made, better-warrantied Osprey for the same price as the Kitchen - that doesn't weigh a zillion pounds empty ;p

Just received the bathroom sink RC in the coyote. Amazing. Quality is great. The little metal details and clips give it a tacticool feel.

It is kinda small. I might get the kitchen sink now 😂
