I bought the M18 version (non-fuel) that is still unopened and debating whether to return it for this or keep the M18. I have seen mixed feedback on the M12 about it overheating but that appears to have been fixed. Looking for something portable to complement a 16 gallon rigid vac for stuff like cleaning out the car and dust collection for small jobs.

I had the non-fuel m18 & was disappointed in the suction. Plus it makes a high pitched annoying whining sound. Returned that thing back to Homey Depot & got the fuel m18 & happy camper. Hose length is short though, so got the Harbor freight hose kit on a $25 coupon deal. That hose is good length & I just wrap it around the outside & secure with velcro straps.

With a forge battery the non fuel M18 vacuum is decent. With high output and regular batteries it was really weak. I mostly use it for vehicles and stairs because its easier than fighting a regular vac to clean them.

I have the m12 and never use it and dont even keep it on my work truck. Suction is pretty weak and its runtime even with 6.0 batteries is terrible. The m18 with any battery I only have to change batteries maybe 1ce a week. The m12 I had to change batteries multiple times per day.

Skip this. Absolutely burns through batteries on even the low setting with the largest battery. 3ah are a joke. You might get 4 mins of run time on level 2 with a 3ah. I found suction to be decent for its size, but the battery life is so bad as to be intolerable.

Had this too and returned it for the M18 Fuel, what a difference. The M18 Fuel has been great so far, the only vac I like better is my portable Dewalt, but that is corded, the M18 Fuel packout is great on the packout too.

Skip this M12 and save yourself some misery, the M18 Fuel is not that much bigger, but a lot better
