Should have also mentioned these do work with full Matter only integration into home assistant, but only if you update the firmware to v1.3 first in the Tp-link app.
They shipped with v1.2.2 firmware last week which did allow me to commission them with matter over Wi-Fi only but they were missing the energy monitoring until I did the firmware update. I deleted the TP-link app and did a factory reset and reprovisioned in HA. Flawless after the very annoying hoops. Idle draw of 2W.
Wonder how long these will be network supported. I regularly throw away smart plugs that lose network/App/cloud support essentially making them useless. Wemo as of lately. (Owned by Belkin, a reputable company)
