I have one of these, earlier model, and it is good for what I do. The best feature of this printer is that you can buy ink from anywhere and add to it. Just make sure you print a full color page once a month or 2 if you don't print regularly. This action will stop the ink from drying in the tubes. The printer has a built in capability to melt that ink but that takes a lot of effort compared to just printing a full color page, from my experience. The only major issue I have is that the document feeder randomly stopped recognizing documents. So now I have to manually scan multiple documents or both sides of the same paper.

What's the best cheap source for the ink that you've found? Can you post a link? Have been thinking of going this route for wide format (11x17) color prints.

Thanks. That's the question I had about these (do these still have the issue of drying up).

How many prints can you get per tank/fill?

Using the ink in the box, that would be 125 pages x 24 months so approx 3000 pages.

These things are awesome, never thought I'd finally get rid of my brother but these are downright affordable and print color pretty well

Did they fix the issue of the waste tank getting full and the printer being unusable at that point?

Anybody have experience with Canon megatank vs Epson ecotank printers? Currently have Canon pixma from 20 years ago and tired of replacing cartridges and print heads because they all dry out due to lack of use.

I have an unraid server setup, and I created a cron script to print this page of three different colors that match the colors of the ink, to make sure to flush the ink once a week. The amount of prints I get is actually ridiculous if I don't have to worry about it plugging up, so it's well worth it.

AliExpress has this for $172.40 but I don't purchase from that site. Just thought I'd mention this if there are others that do purchase from them.

Seems like Amazon description suggests this has auto duplex printing but several reviews across platform indicate that you have to flip the paper yourself to get both sided print.
