I had a similar one that I had to turn up the brightness every time I used it since it'd go back to default settings on power off. Does this one do the same?

I had same issue and returned it. I did like the panel for my use case, but did find the 250 nits disappointing.

Got this from Best Buy for about $10 more and returned it. Looks like people just don't like it

These are so dim, 250nits is practically unusable unless it's dark. Chances are they were returned for that problem. Also, these panels are fragile. Bend them the wrong way and they'll stop working. See the reviews on Amazon for similar listings.
Baloney, I have this monitor and it's more than fine for office use; I actually have the brightness at about 60%

You may just be used to the low brightness or haven't used a higher quality display to notice. A good screen is at least 400nits.

I've got a raspberry pi project I had in mind that needed a small monitor, for $35 this might be fun to play with.

"Unusable?" LOL...based on what....12 noon outside in the middle of July? Where do you people even come up with this stuff?

'See any review,' not a single one of them says the dimness makes it "unusable." Check out any video review if you really want your world view destroyed...you can see for yourself....under studio lighting which is MUCH brighter than most homes or offices.

FWIW, I currently use a MNN generic portable monitor which also claims 250 nits (based on the fact it is a endlessly rebranded generic, that is probably an exaggeration or never actually tested) and that I used all the time outside and the brightness is no where near turned up to max.. Must be magic.

Nonsense aside, anyone knows if this comes with a cover or just the stand? The stand is what I really like but alone would not make this super travel friendly. A cheap laptop sleeve might work otherwise.

Like I said above, you probably don't know the look of a good display. You're putting unnecessary strain on your eyes to save a few bucks.

"Unusable*" just turned into "unnecessary strain." LOL.
Then you even can't qualify that new goalpost so you throw out the meaningless "yOu pRoBaBlY DoN'T KnOw tHe lOoK Of a gOoD DiSpLaY." Classic gatekeeping with zero useful information.

How about a recommendation for a good* display since you are pretending to be so helpful? Just a "few bucks*" more of course. Should be easy since you keep alluding to it.

Not to mention, a meaningless (alone) nits* claim / rating isn't what causes eye strain. Dim displays can be very unstrenuous....so much so that turning brightness up isn't normally recommended as overly bright displays is what causes most eye fatigue (outside of not taking breaks away from a screen) in the work place. Lets not even discuss "dark mode." Contrast, sharpness, color reproduction are far more important than the meaningless (alone) brightness claims. But I shouldn't need to tell a display connoisseur such as yourself all of that.

Oh and please think of me....forever....each and every time you turn down your phone's display (not up) when your eyes start to feel strained. Far lower than 250 nits I'd wager a guess Wink

*your lines in the sand, not mine.

Does it comes with cable(s)? Some reviews say yes, but I cannot find it mentioned in the description. TY

If anyone cares, I just found these 3D printable stands for the PM161QT (T means touchscreen version), looks like it should fit this monitor as well.

https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:7274398

also someone in the comment section of this print said it fit their (again) PM161QT.
