So, yearly subcription on the standard (no ads) plan has gone up from $170 to $185.

If you currently have a subscription, go ahead to your "subscription" page and cancel. You might receive an offer to continue for $145 for the next year.

Don't forget to stack with the AmEx offer, for $25 off a purchase of $99+, also YMMV. My AmEx offer expires 3/15/2026. It is possible that they have timed these two offers to not overlap, though.

I just got an email reminder today for my plan also renewing 3/15, but didn't get the offer when canceling this year, did get it last year. Went thru with it anyway, I'm on the premium plan.

This discount offer might only apply to someone that cancels for the first time. I had HBO / HBO max for many years (20?) then went to cancel a few years ago and it automatically gave me a discount offer so I accepted it and had it for another year. Second time the price keeps going up, I went to cancel again and this time there was no discount offer to stay and went through with the cancel. This was about 7 months ago and have not signed back up. I get emails to come back at full price but have not. Guess I don't miss HBO / HOB max that bad.

I just saved $40. Thanks. My plan renews March 20th. I need to call to get them to bill me before the 15th.

I think most people here signed up for $3.99 a month over Christmas.
Interesting. That was with ads, though.
BTW the android tv app for HBO max works pretty well when you are on the standard plan, but with the ads it gets really slow and unresponsive. On an ol' Nvidia Shield, at least.

Same. Also Premium subscriber. Was offered $169.99/year last year. No offers this year. Went through with the cancellation.

Same for me. I'm out at $229, will have to see if they offer another deal but otherwise I'm switching to the one month a year catch-up plan.

Seems if you've already had the discount you don't get the offer again. Which makes sense if they're trying to get people to accept the new pricing scheme. I'm not paying for a package with ads and it's not worth $230/year for premium, so I'm out unless they change direction after their next merger.

I have one below yours, not premium, but also not ads, going up from $139 to $185 or so. I can still get a $25 amex discount, so $160 for a year. I'll wait for a few more weeks and give it another try.

Do you subscibe to paramount + ?

My current one is through a sportsline subscription and will expire in March as well. I got a year, no ads for pretty cheap, but I don't see any great deals on sportsline right now.

I had the $30/year Sportsline w/ free Paramount+ but canceled at the end of my Sportsline year to avoid costly reup. So for paid streaming I'm down to Amazon Prime, Netflix UHD (family share for $10/mo), Hulu/Disney+ Premium bundle ($8/mo after $12 monthly discount from Tmobile), Peacock Premium ($30/yr),and Apple+ (my wife got on her dad's account). We'll miss HBO Max but plenty of other stuff to stream out there!

I also cancelled and had no offer. My subscription ends in march. I'm probably just pay for select months to watch shows once the season completes
