also a lot of waste in rolls, you always measure out more than you need by an inch or two, plus as you say the rolls curls and the end of the roll if often not enough on a large cookie sheet.

This is one of those situations where the convenience and time you save is worth any extra cost at this price. Plus if you're making multiple trays of cookies or brownies at once, so much easier to spread out on a table and lay out the premeasured dough on a premeasured sheet.
