This was my first mirrorless camera. Just know that this camera does NOT have in-body image stabilization (IBIS), and is NOT weathersealed.

So while it's a good starter I'd opt for the G85 or the G9.

Yep. G85 has been my camera for years. Definitely recommend it over the G7 for weatherproofing and image stabiliation.

What would you suggest at this price point? Even used gear is steep these days, and this gives someone a full system for not much money. I don't need it, but likely someone just getting into it might find value.

GX85 is a better deal and better camera for a similar price.
