Looks like the 5-port 2.5GbE + 1x 10G SFP+ variant is only $49.99, too - apparently an all time low. Probably a better choice for most folks: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CJ9F8RJF
Shame these aren't managed switches though.

Seems to be the normal price yeah, but get it from B&H Photo because they have free shipping (Ubiquiti direct wanted $17 shipping and I noped out of that): https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/pr...witch.htmlIf you're just going to run it as a 'dumb' switch, you shouldn't need anything... but if you have a Ubiquiti gateway or Unifi Controller set up, they can function a a managed switch i.e. vlan tagging
I have a couple of old Ap's that I needed their software to set up (there software required java, but i intend to run a container).

There's a ugreen switch that's similar with option for link agg.
Here for the complaints that seem to pop-up in every networking gear deal that 2.5gb ports are so last year and this should have 10gb ports and only cost a nickel.
Fanless is an interesting choice for something with SFP+ ports, probably best to stick with DAC, avoid 10GBase-T transceivers, and be careful with fiber. Maybe add a fan anyway.
Know SFP+ runs a bit hotter, but I have the fanless 10GB ethernet version of this switch; it's great, and a 5 USD aluminum heat sink off of amazon does a more-than-adequate job of dissipating heat IMO.
Fine in a relatively stale closet, gangbusters in anything with some air circulation.
I'm running something like that to bypass my AT&T fiber gateway. SFP goes in the slot, and 2.5G out to my router.
Works fine. Pretty sure there's a common/cheap Realtek chip powering all these, and the ones with more ports internally are bunch of 5 port switches chained together through the 10G

Thank you, I've been needing to update my network I want the att fiber to go into my basement switch and serve 2.5gb throughout the house. Just need to figure out tye best hardware
I'd rather have a 3rd Ubiquiti Flex Mini 2.5G with (5) 2.5gb ports for $49.00
Got mine on Friday. Glad you mentioned this. Basically as small as a 5-port switch can possibly get.. and I already have a UCG-Max so it integrates really well with that. Seems to run nice and cool.
Would be a perfect little setup if the UCG-Max had a PoE+ out and this switch had PoE passthrough for powering an AP.
