This Vankyo H300W is a very cheap 1080p portable projector best suited for dark-room, nighttime, or casual use like kids movies, camping, backyard setups, and Halloween window projections. The picture is described as true 1080p with passable color, auto keystone, casting, and decent sound, and it can even handle light gaming. Brightness is the main limit, since 220 ANSI lumens will wash out quickly in ambient light and is not meant for serious home theater use. Fan noise and open-box condition are recurring concerns, including missing remotes or power cords on some units.

You realize in 2026 there are projectors that will work in rooms with ambient lighting right? Not a 30 dollar protector, but plenty of others will.
There are also 10,000lm projectors with 100 foot throw. Also, not thirty bucks.

For what it's worth, it seems that a similar Vankyo projector, the VANKYO Performance X3 can be had for about the same price on ebay. No idea which is better. I see several sellers and since I don't know if any are official I won't link to any.
Here is a PC Review of the X3. Per the review this is a 300lm projector.

wish I had $30 to spare, I really would like a cheapo projector that I can just throw up on the ceiling while laying in bed, if I put this on some sort of legs to keep the airflow on the bottom, maybe this would be sufficient.

already got the blackout curtains for the bedroom, so the dimness shouldn't be a deal breaker there.
I have an older 720p prjector you can have if you cover shipping. Upgraded I was planning on donating it. It's not this small but it's not huge. You'll need a power supply but i always just used it camping with a portable power bank and did fine. Unless you're near NWFL already and just want to pick it up to save shipping.

For anyone saying this one isn't great, the the seller has the same coupon which works on a bunch of other projectors in the same range and a little more expensive. Does anyone see any slicker deals? https://www.ebay.com/str/vipoutle...7675.m2197
I pulled the trigger on the V700 Pro for $68 after stacking two promo codes - ~650 (actual) lumens, two ports (to accommodate a dongle), and keystone correction seems worth a shot

220 Lumens? Ids says that's a hard yes. My 3d epson projector has 3500 lumens and it struggles unless I have blackout curtains closed. 220 lumens... you'll need this in a room with no windows or only use it at night.
No. 200 lumens is fine for 75 inch, 400 lumens for 150 inch, 800-1600 lumens for 300-600 inch in dark room

You 3000 lumen is overkill unless to dial it down to eco mode. Bright projector only matter in daytime presentation.

All of these cheap projectors sound like a jet engine if you are using indoors and sitting next to it. Not appropriate for serious movie watching etc. Unusable IMO unless in an environment with ambient noise already, or for fun outside, in the garage, with the kids, etc
The 400 lumens run cooler qt 40db. 30db are the $500-1500 projector with nicely fans and thermals.

It's this one better? It sounds slightly better for same price?

Edit: The linked Performance x3 projector is brighter but does not have keystone.

For someone who bought a cheap chinese white label projector years ago, then more serious Epson and Optoma afterwards, please keep in mind this is a $31 "taste" of what projectors can do. It's not expected to be a main device, but it'll be cool for certain occassions: camping, backyard, kids movies, etc. I dare say its a good value also, since it has speakers, auto keystone, casting, etc.

Actually, ANY projector, no matter how bright, will be adversely affected by ambient light. Any light will wash out the contrast. It's physics.

What's the second coupon, can't get any to work. EBAYVIP2026SALE won't apply

Just got mine today with no power cord or remote. How can you control the volume without the remote?
