I own one of these and that claimed noise level of 32dB is blatant false advertising

All of these cheap projectors sound like a jet engine if you are using indoors and sitting next to it. Not appropriate for serious movie watching etc. Unusable IMO unless in an environment with ambient noise already, or for fun outside, in the garage, with the kids, etc

Is this one of those that only work in a dark room?

I'm guessing you're asking if it's a projector.... Yes, it is a projector.

You realize in 2026 there are projectors that will work in rooms with ambient lighting right? Not a 30 dollar protector, but plenty of others will.

220 Lumens? Ids says that's a hard yes. My 3d epson projector has 3500 lumens and it struggles unless I have blackout curtains closed. 220 lumens... you'll need this in a room with no windows or only use it at night.

How bad is the audio quality? Does it improve if attached to Bluetooth speakers?

This is the kind of projector you use for Halloween window projection and such

Actually considering for Halloween or holidays. At this price it's cheaper than many of the holiday projectors. Would it work for this?

Yes, as long as you didn't have a ton of light around the projector and was doing it for a local scare (not whole house), it should work ok for it. I used a projector with about the same lumens for a rear window projector and it worked well. It would most likely work for outdoors as well. And if anyone took it, it wouldn't be a complete loss.

I know for a fact that your projector doesn't have 3500 "ANSI" lumens though, lol. Different measurement.

wish I had $30 to spare, I really would like a cheapo projector that I can just throw up on the ceiling while laying in bed, if I put this on some sort of legs to keep the airflow on the bottom, maybe this would be sufficient.

already got the blackout curtains for the bedroom, so the dimness shouldn't be a deal breaker there.

Open mouth, insert foot.

It is possible to find an Epson projector that meets or even exceeds 3,500 ANSI lumens while supporting 3D, but you have to look at specific models and understanding how they are measured.
While many of Epson's Home Cinema models are officially rated for 2,500 to 3,000 lumens, third-party testing from experts like ProjectorCentral and ProjectorReviews has shown that certain high-end Epson units can actually hit or exceed 3,500 lumens in their brightest "Dynamic" modes.
