But yes on the Android version of the fire Stick not the select version you can still side load apps. Kodi, smart tube, whatever's
And my 2023 4k cube still working right now.

Holy hell….WHY?
This thread is full of misinformation, but this is the top WORST.
Do not do this.
Get any Android TV device (Onn devices are the sweet spot at around $50 or less) and dedicate about 20-30 minutes of your time to sideload a few key apps.
Don't invite garbage malware devices into your home network while paying an additional $200-$300 on top of that. Pure insanity!
Mine:
8gb storage, Dual Band WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0 + LE, HDMI output, micro-USB for power only.
Woot's:
8GB Storage , Wi-Fi 6 dual-band: 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax , Bluetooth 5.2 + BLE, HDMI 2.1 output with ARC input support, micro USB

Nothing gives you anything for free out of the box (for the most part). You need to install that stuff yourself if that's the route you want to go with one of these devices.
If your next question is how do you do that, it's not hard to find out how to do that kind of stuff if you just search around for a little bit.
Firestick is the absolute worst of all the streaming devices if privacy is a concern of yours. This device logs all of you button presses, all the content you watch (yes, all--even your smut), including screenshots, plus it pokes around your home network to see what else if can glean from your other devices, and sends all that juicy, personal data back to the mother ship to be monitized via targeted ads and the sale of your personal data to data brokers, who then sell if to anyone who wants it, for example, Lexus Nexus, who correlates that data with all of your other PII from many other sources, thus building a complete personal profile of you and all of your proclivities. Bezos is all about profiting off of you in whatever way he can.
In order, from worst to best in terms of violating your privacy:
1) Firestick (worst for violating your privacy)
2) Oon
3) Roku
4) NVidea Shield
5) Apple TV (best for protecting your privacy)
If you still want to get a cheap (there's a reason it's so cheap) Firestick, at least put in on an IoT VLAN and run pi-hole for your DNS.
