The Logitech G305 is a lightweight wireless gaming mouse that stands out for long battery life and a solid feel at this price. It has held up through drops and everyday use, and the sensor and wireless performance are still appealing for gaming. The main drawback is the well known double click issue, which can show up after months or years, and dust can also make the buttons act up. It is a capable budget pick if you can live with the durability risk.

  • The mouse can keep working after multiple cat drops, with the only reported failure coming from inserting a battery backwards.

  • The mouse can develop double-clicking over time, but optical-switch alternatives avoid that specific mechanical button bending issue.

  • The mouse can be a strong value when purchased during promotions, such as $26.49 plus a $15 gift card.

  • The mouse can offer smooth FPS performance for some users, including regular use over multiple years.

  • The mouse can develop the double-click issue as mechanical button parts bend over time.

  • A refurbished unit can develop double-clicking within about a year, and soldering may be required to manage it.

  • The mouse can feel less suitable for some hands because grip and thumb button placement may require adjusting aim.

  • The mouse can become less smooth in FPS play after awhile, even when overall performance is otherwise described as good.

my 2 cents
As a long time owner of the G305, I went to grab one and price was up at 45, but the orochi V2 was at 30, so I gave it a shot-
As someone who pretty much despises the company razor, the orochi V2 is my favorite mouse by far. The size and shape is awesome. being able to keep your palm down and use your fingers to control while still being able to hit the second thumb button comfortably is something it's something I really really appreciate.
My hand is long, just under 7 1/2 inches, I was always getting annoyed messing with my grip with the g305. I get used to finger gripping and then a game would come in where the second thumb button was really important and my palm would end up having to be off the pad or holding the mouse diagonally which would mess with my aim a bit.

All mouse companies need to pull their thumb buttons back a bit closer to base of the thumb imo.
The G305 and the Sabre pro almost feel slightly quicker with their initial movement, but the thing about latency that people don't think about enough is stopping speed, which is actually much more important when it comes to control, the orochi V2 has incredible stopping precision/control compared to everything else I've tried.
Find one for 30 on Amazon or eBay easily, but I'd honestly EASILY rather pay 60 for the orochi than 25 for the G305, anything you're gonna interact with for ~8000 hours should really be priceless

I got both the orochi v2 and G305 on sale a few months ago. I'm happy with both mice. G305 battery life seems a lot longer but build quality of orochi v2 feels better overall (buttons and sensor). Using the Orochi for a few hours cramps my average sized hand so I was surprised your larger hands prefer its smaller size. Maybe I'm missing something with my grip style.

I used this since 2021 until two months ago and went through three of them. The mechanical parts inside the buttons get bent over time leading to the infamous double clicking issue. Expensive models have optical switches instead which will never have that issue. They are also much lighter than this one. I switched to an Endgame Gear XM2w but within a month that had its own clicking issues due to cheap adhesive so I switched to a Razer DeathAdder V3 Pro which is now the best mouse I have ever used. Got it for only $80 and well worth the higher price compared to this G305. Many of the expensive models can be found much cheaper than the usual price, just have to look around.
Helps explain what happened to my cheap Logitech gaming mouse. Did not take long for this to be an issue. Was within warranty so my own fault for not replacing it. But I'll never buy cheap stuff like this again. Frown

good deal, it's fine. Sensitive to dust, especially if you blow your nose. Blow under the mouse button to clear, but your general area might be very dusty

Good price and I've enjoyed my Logitech mice so far. If I don't win the Asus mouse giveaway, coming back to read more on this. Not so sure about the durability, though.
