Is the upgraded doorbell version, Comes with a chime, even bigger battery. More ai feature, thief dectector. Better sensor color night view etc.
if you buy the one ops posted, you cannot buy a standard alone chime. Will have to fork another $20 buying the smart hub which also has a speaker and can be use has a chime.
Community Reviews
Tapo's 2K wireless doorbell stands out for local SD recording, on device detection, and subscription free basic alerts, making it useful for checking packages and keeping footage on hand. The camera also supports person, package, and car detection, and wired Tapo models can work with RTSP or ONVIF for local use. Caveats include grainy night video, frequent motion triggers that can drain the battery, and occasional reconnect issues after power loss. Rich notifications and some chime options may require extra hardware or a paid tier, so it fits best if local storage matters more than polish.
Common Questions (4)
No subscription is needed for local SD recording and basic text notifications. Rich notifications with screenshots, GIFs, or video require the paid tier, and the camera can still record weeks of footage to an SD card.
Battery life can vary a lot with trigger frequency and setup. One installation lasted less than 3 months with heavy activity and low-light use, while another wire-free setup dropped about 40% over 80 days with only a couple triggers per day.
It is not ONVIF in the strict sense, but it does support RTSP with VBR only. Wired Tapo cameras and wired-with-battery models support ONVIF/RTSP, which can be used for local streaming and NVR-style setups.
The listed wireless model may require a Tapo smart hub for indoor chime support instead of a standalone chime. The upgraded doorbell version includes a chime in the box and adds a larger battery and more AI features.

Works great. Can record weeks on my SD card and check in on my Amazon packages while at work. Would recommend.

Integration with home assistant seems to make it drain faster.
Get it if you need a budget doorbell camera, but I don't recommend it if you're street facing or in an area with low light.
