It's not much different, it's slightly lighter and has the optical switches that fix the double click failure. I guess the switches feel slightly less springy? I didn't really notice it or care.
Unfortunately they got rid of the compartment to hold the USB dongle, which sucks, but it has bluetooth support now and while latency is measurably worse with BT vs 2.4ghz according to reviews, I honestly can't tell any difference, but each to their own.
I got it to fix the double click issues of the G305 so I'm happy enough and the bluetooth works fine enough that I don't really care about losing the slot for the USB dongle. I leave the USB in my desktop and use bluetooth to connect the mouse to my laptop.
You'd probably have a bigger quality of life difference if you have the Logitech powerplay mat, since this supports that and lightens the mouse even more since you can omit the AA battery. But I don't mind the extra weight or inconvenience so I never bothered to buy the mat.
I don't think I'd be in a rush to pay $50 for it though, there was a holiday sale a few months ago where this was $50 + $20 amazon credit and that was a much better price.
