I'm a big Sony fan, but I think their bigger speakers just can't compete with the quality sound the JBL party boxes throw out. I've got the Sony ULT 5s and would love to eventually get the ult 7 - they sound amazing for their size. But the sound comparisons I've heard for the party speakers definitely go to JBL over Sony IMO
