I have 2 of these and they're terrific: work perfectly (as long as they get enough sunlight) and super easy to install. Just bought 2 more bc this is a fantastic price.

Where does the recording go? Is it cloud based? Do you have to pay for a subscription?

There's 8gb of storage built into it if you're using it as a standalone or you can expand it with the home base 3.

feedback from Ebay customer.
"Okay, so what i've kind of determined with the outlet store, is mostly these items are returned from amazon that appear to be unused. But in reality have some kind of issue, and vou become the tester, so they don't have to pay one of their own people, to quote refurbish it. Here's some photos of my light, it arrived broken and wouldn't charge.. just took the back off and saw somebody pushed on the u s b connector to the point where the screws broke the plastic. J b weld to the rescue. No biggie"

8GB local on device and if you have the homebase it connects to that, then you connect to the homebase; otherwise you connect directly to the device

Per your observation, would "enough" light mean I'd need some direct sunrays? I'd like to light a side porch on the north-facing side of the house. I'd think it would get very little, or no, direct sunlight.

Agreed. I have one and it's nice that it acts as a security light as well. Bought two more as well.

From my experience with these, have three in northern Wisconsin, is that if there is a lot of foot traffic, even abundance of light will not suffice. Mine are currently West, East, and South facing with the front of the house equipped with something else.

So far with little traffic they are holding up throughout the winter, and by little I mean roughly 2-3 notifications from them per day. That being said, we didn't have sun for a bit of time so the E/W side are at roughly 30% battery from the course of 2 months from 100% and the South one is at 60%.
