Community Reviews

This ACEMAGIC E3B mini PC stands out mainly as a low cost way to get 32GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD, with the 7430U viewed as an older Ryzen 5 5625U class chip rather than a newer upgrade. The 32GB configuration gets praise as a strong value, and the 16GB version is described as working well, quiet, and well put together. The main concerns are brand reliability and reports of factory malware or spyware, along with the feeling that the money is better spent on newer alternatives. It looks appealing on paper, but the draw is mostly the memory and storage.

Common Questions (4)

  • There are reports of pre-installed malware on some ACEMAGIC mini PCs, and the brand has been criticized for security and reliability issues. A separate user with this exact model reported checking their unit and finding no malware, so the concern appears to be model- and shipment-dependent.

  • The Ryzen 5 7430U is effectively the same chip as the older Ryzen 5 5625U from 2022, and the E3B is described as an older recycled design. It is not a meaningfully newer CPU platform, so the main value is the included 32GB RAM and 512GB SSD.

  • Yes, this deal includes 32GB of DDR4 memory and a 512GB SSD. The RAM is DDR4 rather than DDR5, but it is still viewed as worthwhile for the price, especially if you want the larger memory capacity.

  • It comes from a US warehouse, so it is not being shipped as a typical overseas import. That makes tariffs or import tax less likely than with a direct international shipment.

I would not recommend it. They seem to have some serious quality control and reliability issues, in addition to the possibility of pre-installed malware.

Asus NUC or the MSI NUC. Also look into Lenovo and HP micro/mini desktops. Unfortunately, they are more expensive than the cheap Chinese mini PCs, but for me it's worth the peace of mind that my computer is safe, secure, and from a brand that's well established. My biggest concern with the Chinese mini PCs is 1) security (from malware/rootkits/hidden backdoors) and 2) Build quality (I have seen countless reviews from people who have bought one, only to have it die months or a year later). I have been on the hunt for a decent mini PC myself, but most of them are too good to be true.

Is it a chipset limitation? Why 6 USB-A ports and only 1 USB-C?

From my understanding these have cheaper SATA storage rather that NVMe.

I picked up 2 of these exact ones for $268 (32gb version) back in July from Amazon, and they have worked fine, 24/7, since then. I use one for web browsing, the occasional Word doc and mostly as a Citrix client and it drives 3 monitors nicely. I wouldn't know about gaming performance (I just don't play any on anything other than an arcade emulator I built, because I'm old). The other one does pretty much the same thing in another room, but just as kind of a handy workstation near the servers, so while it's powered on 24/7, it might only get used once every couple of weeks. It's the first non enterprise hardware I've had in 10 or 15 years and for the price, post RAM crisis, I'd recommend it, although I'm under no illusion that it's as well built as my pricier equipment, nor do I care, because I have many other options and usually wander the house with a laptop. If a computer is actually critical for your income, don't own just one, regardless of brand. The "malware" thing is old news, and I assume most people don't use the pre installed OS on anything simple like this anyway and uses their own install. (Win 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC in my case).
