It doesn't look like any of these quite meet the new carry on size restrictions

What's the difference between Winfield 2 and 3?

Winfield 3 is supposed to be an upgrade from Winfield 2, but seems not as good as Winfield 2, bassed on reviews.

I have two sets of the Winfield 2. It was definitely not called "Fashion" when I bought them. One set about 10 years ago and a second about 7 years. They've been on international trips 2 to 3 times a year and countless domestic. Outside of scratches, no real issues. The 10 year old large one did develop a crack at the bottom center, perpendicular from the zipper to edge. It hasn't affected anything. Primarily use the large and carry on for flights, and road trips use the medium. They've held up well and will definitely recommend.

Don't forget those who got the Winfield 2 like 7 to 10 years ago. The material used were probably a lot far superior than today's inferior material to craft the same set of luggage.

Assume the Winfield sets will require additional baggage fees on international flights as the large dimensions exceed 62 linear inches
It may or may not be some airlines "official policy" but never once have I had any international airlines measure any of my check-in suitcases -- and I travel frequently. For reference I take mostly top rated Airlines like Qatar and Emirates, etc. But I've also flown Turkish airlines and some cheaper airlines too.

Can you give an example of a time where they measured your check-in suitcase and which airline it was? Please provide your personal experience if/when this happened.

The old suitcases all used to have built in locks that used a key or number lock. What do you do about the locks in today's TSA era? Leave unlocked or use some other contraption.
Use wire ties along with the TSA security combination lock. This is the most recommended option. Wire ties deter most airline/airport staff who're morally compromised and you're OK with TSA doing their thing. When traveling from an especially dubious place with high levels of corruption, use the additional protection provided by cellophane wrapping of the entire suitcase. The wrapping deters most corrupt folks due to the higher bar but there's nothing that can deter someone determined to get into your belongings once they're out of your hands. Keep most small items of high value in hand baggage (never check-in).

Does anyone ever use the middle size? I wish there was just a CO and the largest size.
That's the one we use for any travel. Hard to keep a 28" under 50 lbs.

Wish I can get on this set, I think there's an option to have an all-smooth hardshell style instead of ones with the beady patterns/some other non smooth pattern on them. Curious on why most US luggage companies have those styles, hard to put stickers on them lol
