Absolutely, especially after being out of print for a very long time.

The question is why is it so pricey?

1. Limited Edition. 2. First time on 4k UHD. 3. Quality of the transfer. This, along with woos other classics, were not expected to ever be put on 4k because of who owned the rights.

This will come to Arrow too: https://www.arrowfilms.com/p/4k/t.../17699254/ Release date: 20 April
Differences from the Shout release (credit MifuneFan @ Blu-Ray .com):
  • Dolby Atmos audio
  • Optional newly translated English subtitles for the Cantonese audio (likely done by Dylan Cheung)
  • High Definition (1080p) Blu-ray presentation of the 130-minute Taiwan Extended Cut with lossless Mandarin mono audio and optional English subtitles (contains standard-definition inserts)
  • Option to view the Extended Cut with additional scenes from the Taiwan VHS release
  • Unrestored print of the Extended Cut (standard-definition with burnt-in subtitles only)
  • 2nd John Woo archival commentary (Shout just has the Criterion archival one)
  • Archival interviews with cinematographer Peter Pau and actors Sally Yeh and Kenneth Tsang
  • Four archival featurettes from 2001 with Woo and producer Tsui Hark
  • Collectors' perfect-bound booklet featuring new writing on the film by critics Priscilla Page and Frank Djeng, archival writing by critic Rafik Djoumi and an excerpt from an interview with John Woo conducted by Stéphane Moïssakis (Shout has their own book with different contributors)
