I am a Fuel Rewards member. I downloaded the Shell app onto my phone. I tried to login using my Fuel Rewards login information. It prefilled all of the correct information but when I pressed Next, it gave me a red error on the Mobile Phone Number: "Mobile number is already in use." (Of course it is - that is the number attached to my Fuel Rewards account.) When I tap "Next", it will not move beyond that screen. How do I get past this error?

UPDATE: I called Shell using the number on the first screen (888-603-0473). They said it is a known error within the Shell app. Advised me to delete the Shell app and reinstall and try again. I had already done that without success. Rep said to call back tomorrow when the Shell team is in (on Monday - holiday? I'm not sure... I should have asked him) and they can fix it.

UPDATE 2: I created a new account in the Shell app using a different email address and mobile number so that I could get the discount today. Was able to complete that in a minute, accept the NASCAR Race Days offer and get a new customer discount, to boot.

UPDATE 3: Linked new Shell account to a new Fuel Rewards account. Purchased fuel tonight using new ALT ID at pump. Got 32 cents off per gallon. 22 cents NASCAR + 10 cents first fill with new Shell account. Pump price was $2.75/gallon; paid $2.43/gallon.

Thanks for the info That would be helpful to know that upfront. Pfft to Shell for not clearly stating this.

I guess I'll try next Sunday when the next round comes along and see what happens.

I just returned from the Shell station. The 22 cents will show on the pump when you insert your credit card.

does anyone know if this only works once for that race day? or its multi use?
i have several gift cards with $25 value but my car takes more than double that to fill up. I wonder if I use 1 $25 gift card to fill and try with 2nd gift card after, will it give me the -22 cents the 2nd fill up.

Based on the comment that was made just before your's, if the discount appears when you swipe your card, you should be able to find out. If the discount shows, good, if it doesn't, then you can just cancel the transaction. Whatever the case, I think there is a limit of 25 gallons on the discount.

To further elaborate on this, since I have experience with partnerships. Shell works with Kroger. So if this individual is referring to a store, it could be the chain Kroger. If you have Kroger points and the shell app, it may work together and give you more off on gas.

same. Didn't see the discount in the app but once I started the fueling the pump showed the 22 cent off on top of my Gold level 5 cent off.

They may be opening this up for Fuel Rewards members, not just Shell app. I received an email allowing me to activate this offer on race days; however, when this promotion actually started, I had heard nothing about it unless I had the Shell app. Let's see if this works tomorrow.

Edit: Nevermind. I clicked on what seemed to look like a legit activation email and it diverted me to the Shell app. Gahdam.
Edit edit: All right. I decided to download the Shell app as well today. Both my gas powered vehicles are thirsty (almost empty) and gas prices are not going to be cheaper anytime soon. This would be a good time to take advantage of this deal.

It would be beneficial to have both apps and Costco membership. With gas prices now, any savings is good. I have all three. I will be receiving LESS expensive gas.
Edit: Just used the NASCAR deal this morning and I think there is a default $0.05/gal and $0.22/gal adds to that for $0.27/gal off. The price was $3.49 and the price adjusted to $3.22
