I already ordered a similar combo a few days ago with the GIGABYTE X870E AORUS ELITE. Assuming I dont use more than 2 M2 drives and stick to wifi, does anyone think its worth it to return the other combo and order this instead?

I wish there were any combos with microATX motherboards. Newegg and Microcenter only have massive ATX boards in their combos ;_;

Not bad for the current market.

Good find! I bought the Microcenter deal at $749 last week with the MSI board upcharge due to the recent ASUS issues, but I think this one is worth the extra 50 - better board, faster RAM, lower latency. Thanks op!

Roughly $350 CPU, $250 RAM, $200 Mobo.
Pretty good deal. There were some good deals with the X870E Carbon or Strix X870E-E but those are dead now.

What are the recent Asus issues?

Would you wait for 870E card or just buy this combo? There have been so many combos with the 9850x3d lately I am wondering what's the best strategy?

That's a decent set of RAM w/ those timings. I could've sworn I seen it posted as part of a bundle in another previous deal on Slickdeals.

This is about as good as it gets if you don't live near a micro center

There has been an uptick in reported failures for the 9800X3D (and presumably extending to the 9850X3D) on ASUS 800-series boards that is still under active investigation. Not a showstopper, but worth noting if you're on the market https://press.asus.com/news/state...-concerns/
