From the description and reviews, the intended use for this isn't to replace your normal pillow. It's a "gap filler".

If you look at the pictures you can see that part of the pillow can rotate. This changes the overall shape from a triangle to a rectangle. And as a rectangle, it can fill the gap between your mattress and the headboard. In one review I read someone commented that they put it between a pair of twin beds that were pushed up against each other to close the gap.

As a triangle, I suspect this would be used to when you intentionally want to be propped up. Think of activities like reading, watching TV, or doom scrolling. Most people probably use a second pillow for this. But I can see how a firmer cushion with a triangular shape might work better. Especially with a normal pillow or 2 on top of it.

Sometimes you end up with a bed frame and mattress that just don't match up well. Either way you push the mattress, you're either leaving a big gap on either end. And over time the mattress will likely slide one way or the other.

It's especially annoying on a kid's bed where the little person never bothers to fix it themselves. Their pillows and stuffies get lost to the abyss. Then they won't shut up until you fold like a lawn chair and dive under the bed to rescue them.

Do NOT order / use this till you speak to your doctor. This is NOT a prescribed way of how people sleep.

Why not just push the bed up to close the gap?

We have something similar to this and use it as a gap filler. Works pretty good!

Is this really for a gap filler, or is this another sex pillow labeled innocently.

I put a wedge pillow like this under the mattress to provide a gentle incline without hurting my neck. My snoring disappeared immediately, to my wife's delight.

Just ordered the twin version of this, since the pillow I have is narrower than the width of a twin mattress. Should help keep things steadier.

You realize it's not supposed to be used as your only pillow, right?

This. A wedge can help with snoring, which may even help with sleep apnea. But, I imagine you're supposed to still use a pillow.
