If you're not a pro, the Klein Tools Chinese knock-off is good enough for you.

If you're just doing day to day repairs and not a plumber or mechanic, you can probably count the number of times you use a pliers wrench in a year on one or two hands.

Pros would be using a set of actual non adjustable wrenches and not a pliers wrench for the majority of their work. These pliers wrenches are great for people who do a lot of different handy things. I am constantly fixing things at home and the organizations I am part of like our Scout building, Scout Camp, as well as adjusting things in campsites, etc. Tools like this are perfect for people like me because if I can't fix it, people do without for at least a while.

Nobody said people who do repairs for a living use adjustable wrenches for the majority of their work. Most people probably aren't maintaining or doing repairs on multiple buildings and sites. If you want to reward the original company for coming up with the design, by all means buy the Knipex. If you're on a deal website because you want to pinch pennies, in my opinion buy the tool that's half the price but gets you 90% of the way there.

Worked as an industrial mechanic for over 20 years. I am sure this Knipex brand is very, very good. For pliers, we were given Channelocks version of these. They were pretty indestructible no matter how much we abused them. If you don't need pliers everyday, the Channel lock or even Kobalt like pliers are good enough for almost everything.

If you have a lot of money to treat yourself, go with the Knipex, but be warned, if you use them in a factory, somebody is going to steal them from you.

I got both of these on a Woot awhile back for $51 for both. The only difference was the Twin grip pliers were the comfort handles which actually cost more. They are fantastic tools. For me they are probably an over kill for what I do around the house. I have over the years bought great tools, so I buy once and done.

for the price ~$17 id go with workpro or toolant. im not a pro but did get the de-klein (china) then return it. it was too much play/slop on on the bottom jaw. im sure theyll work fine avg diy and do 90% of knipex. the quality is no where near knipex. if you rely on this tool often knipex is the way to go.

These are THE two most important and versatile tools I keep in my bag, and use them both daily.

I left the pliers-wrench under a customer's dishwasher last week and drove 45 minutes out of my way yesterday to go find them.

The twin grip pliers are super handy at pulling out stripped fasteners.

This is a great deal

(Edit: I actually have the comfort grip version of the twin-grip pliers, and this dipped version of the pliers-wrench. I like the comfort grip a lot, but I never really wish I had it on the pliers-wrench.)
