Amazing deal, the 16lb bag was $35 (normally $64) with S&S.

They 'get away with it' because cats don't eat much

We had to have our cat on Hill's after a urinary blockage. He almost died 3 years ago. We're tapering him off now and swapping in Purina Kindey Health which is like 4 times cheaper, but cat was given a clean bill of health last visit...so should be good.

If you think this is bad, the Hills prescription diet stews are several times as expensive. The tiny cans are almost $3 each now.

There was a deal on Chewy for the wet food once -- and it was still outrageous. 😆

This is what we got our cat -- it's $78.99 for 8.5 lbs right now (😮)
Definitely would get with 45% off if we still needed it.

Hill's Prescription Diet k/d Kidney Care Ocean Fish Dry Cat Food, Veterinary Diet, 8.5 lb. Bag

My cat lived to be 18 years old, and I fed him Science Diet his whole life. He never once needed to go to the vet in those 18 years, so I really think the diet made a big difference. If I ever gave him the cheaper foods he would eat it faster and the litter box smelled more, but with this stuff he ate less of it. Kind of like when you eat Taco Bell and you're hungry 2 hours later vs eating a nutrient-dense meal because your cells aren't craving the nutrients that you didn't get from the cheap filler food.

This is good to know. I have a 2 year old cat that I started out on Purina 1. Several months ago I switched to Science diet which is probably double the cost but I am hoping its worth it for his health. I also feed him various canned wet for for about 1/2 his meals along with the 1-6 year science diet salmon and brown rice bags.
