At which point did you get the popup? Right after you hit I need a new number and before going on to the next screen?

In my case: I need new number > select plan > add zip code to calculate total in cart > then move mouse to close or over to another browser tab > popup appears

Yes although MetroPCS all of a sudden has become the most friendly deal for unlocking since you only have to pay for one month and then a year later it's unlocked. Which is ridiculous but it's better than having to pay 12 months concurrent which is a deal breaker. Ridiculous that the FCC granted that waiver to Verizon.

So here is what I did:
I purchased the 16e for $50 plus the 2 months at $60 each ($120)

I received the phone and had to activate it. Once I did that, I went to the cricket app and there I went to PLANS and there was a list of plans.
I clicked on the $35 plan and added it to my cart and checked out.

Will these still unlock after a year+ of no service, or will they stay locked indefinitely until you actually pay 6 months of active service?

ya i got two iphone 13s from walmart for straight talk, was going do the 2 months for them for my kids (one jan, one feb) then port them out but unfornately they/verizon changed to now a year so i am debating just turning both in for $180x2 =$360 credit. I payed abt $300 for them so id be walking off with nearly my money and abit more. I have no desire to pay $50 a month or so for a year.
