Mixed bag of specs -- CPU is a few generations old, GPU is low-end and designed for CAD-like stuff. But it does have SODIMM slots for memory and a 3K 120Hz screen. Wish it had their 3K OLED screen at this price. Mid 2025 this same config with 64GB was this price also.
I get that ThinkPads are business laptops for like serious people but how is 1100 justified for these specs?? It doesn't even need such an overkill screen!

Because everything tech is expensive with AI using all the fabrication time.
This is a terrible deal. I bought an AMD version of this machine with a better CPU and 64 gb RAM for less money over a year ago.
Over a year ago ya say? While I agree this may not be a great deal, it is better than some FOR THE TIME. Right now, as others have said, components have doubled or tripled in price in the last 6 months.

Time to vote with one's wallet -- reuse older machines + abstain 100% from AI slop. And be vocal about it every...single....opportunity.
Not defending the price point but stating the fact. If you guys follow how the SSD OEM's stock (SNDK, WDC, MU etc) skyrocketed last 8 months, you will realize why laptop market got affected so bad from consumer point of view.

I am expecting at least 6 to 7 hours on 100% charge on normal use.
