  • With 1" square mesh, this welded wire can effectively keep small critters out to protect your garden or farmed animals. Moreover, the 36" x 50' size 16 gauge wire (after coating) is big enough to fit most sizes of animal cages and garden fences.
  • Welded at every point, so it will not break off. What's more, the welding structure is extremely sturdy, and damage from repeated use is not a problem.
  • Although the black vinyl coated mesh has a sturdy structure, it is still flexible enough to conform to any desired shape, such as a tree guard, and can be cut with included wire cutters. Note: you should wear gloves included to use the mesh.

I've been pleased with the quality of Vevor hardware cloth. I've used similarly priced stuff from Ebay and have had strands of wire come detached and it makes a sharp mess.
If you're keeping poultry, note that this is the stuff you'll want to use to help keep predators out of the coop - not "chicken wire." The black coating on here will help it not stand out visually compared to the usual silver stuff. I haven't used the coated one though, so I can't speak to how well the coating holds up.

I use these to keep the rabbits and squirrels out of my veggies in the community garden. You can roll them into a cylinder and use zip ties to make individual cages. Pretty stiff to work with but that means its heavier gauge and thus stronger.

The chances of getting eaten by an alligator while swimming is probably less than getting killed by a shopping cart. So...yah know the human brain is keen to probability neglect. This is a perfect example..

I have bought the 2 foot high fence and it works good for keeping the rabbits out of the garden, not that they can't jump it. It's just that they're too lazy to. And they may feel more vulnerable inside the fence. It's a good price if you need a 3 foot fence though.

what's the mesh size of the fence where you saw a gator climb it?

this is a 1"x1" mesh.

Hardware Cloth? Nope

I wouldn't consider anything other than 1/2" square or smaller to be hardware cloth. The picture looks like it's out to fool you as well. Also 16ga seems pretty light weight... Anyway, the price is good, but don't expect this to be heavy duty.

Maybe because people are usually smart enough not to swim with alligators the incidence is skewed lower.
