Ok your account number is just your GV phone number and your pin is your "call to listen" pin that you set up in the settings of GV. You first have to pay $3 to unlock the GV number.

Porting and failed attempts to order the phone. FYI if you go through the last step and Metro reserved the number you are porting in. But you failed, their payment screen and your order did not go through. Be advised that that number(s) that you attempted to port (no atter how many different phone numbers) are locked in Metro Port Reservation. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO USE THAT NUMBER to process new order using that same # until you call Metro and ask to be transferred over to the porting department and ask them to delete the port. You will also not be able to port it anywhere else until they delete the port reservation. So, all you folks that tried to process a zillion orders after your initial order failed it will never work (even if you fix why your payment didn't go through) until YOU CALL METRO to fix your PORT. With all that said the port dept will want to verify you and the easiest way is for them to send you a SMS to your metro phone so your you don't have a Metro phone working well welcome to the struggle bus have a seat and relax your gong to be on the phone with Metro for some time. Please know this address multiple attempts at porting the same phone number not all the other reasons orders fail on the payment screen. All I can say on that one is , Don't use VPN, don't use discover, don't use a virtual number, wait 48 not 24 hours for your last order attempt to clear out of their system and if you are a religious person…pray

The short version, you must call Metro to make sure any/all the number(s) you are porting over that previously succeed Port Reservation but failed Payment are not locked now to metro reservation once locked to metro they will not work with a new order or another wireless company. This deal is killing me softly, now I remember why I avoided Metro for so long

For those of you having the fraud screen, do this -

Use a VPN
Different credit card #
Add a fake apartment # to your address (if you live in a house)

This has worked for me in the past.

Can't even register a new google voice number. After it links, it throws an error.
running into the same issue - Google must be cracking down on people just creating GV numbers to port out?

what happens to the number if I no longer pay after the first month? Is it suspended for the payment or do I lose the number?

Good deal as long as you can wait a year to unlock it. I ordered the iPhone 16 over the 13. FYI but if you get the message that the transaction was unsuccessful and to visit a store, it maybe because you used an email address that is already associated with a Metro or T-mobile account. I went back and entered a different email address and I was to move forward to complete the purchase process.
one more thing. If you are using a ported GV number, which I did, as others have mentioned, your account number for this ported number is the GV phone number.
Good luck and thanks op.

4 year old phone?
Why bother?
The new generation of apps will not install if you have aging OS.

Does anyone know if this phone (while it is still locked to Metro) can be used as a port-in device with Mint Mobile or any other providers? I need a cheaper monthly service plan. Metro $50 per month is way expensive.

Well, that was a waste of $3 to unlock my GV number. Got the very last screen to place my order and then this:

"Please contact us to complete your order.
Your security is important to us. Unfortunately can't complete your order online. Our award-winning Mobile Experts are ready to assist you. Please call us or visit a store to continue."

365 days for unlock seems like it's not worth it. I don't think a Mint or T-Mobile sim work on it

Happened to me as well. I figured I entered my zip code for porting but when I changed that to 94043, it worked!
I used 94043, still got the same error message. What to do?

When should I cancel service for this deal? At 30 days after activation or right after activation? If latter, will I still have service for the rest of the month? Can I port the number back to GV?

Best to allow service to cancel on its own. It is possible to port the number out within 30 days. Porting into GV is possible, GV charges $20.

Use lower case first and last name. It seems to be working for me. I'll be ordering a 3rd one Tuesday. I will trade all of them at T-Mobile.lol

It's paygo. Just don't sign up for auto renew and it will cancel automatically after the first month service expires. Don't port a number you intend to keep. it'll cost you $20 to port a number back to GV and will likely cancel your metro service when you port out
