Ok your account number is just your GV phone number and your pin is your "call to listen" pin that you set up in the settings of GV. You first have to pay $3 to unlock the GV number.

Porting and failed attempts to order the phone. FYI if you go through the last step and Metro reserved the number you are porting in. But you failed, their payment screen and your order did not go through. Be advised that that number(s) that you attempted to port (no atter how many different phone numbers) are locked in Metro Port Reservation. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO USE THAT NUMBER to process new order using that same # until you call Metro and ask to be transferred over to the porting department and ask them to delete the port. You will also not be able to port it anywhere else until they delete the port reservation. So, all you folks that tried to process a zillion orders after your initial order failed it will never work (even if you fix why your payment didn't go through) until YOU CALL METRO to fix your PORT. With all that said the port dept will want to verify you and the easiest way is for them to send you a SMS to your metro phone so your you don't have a Metro phone working well welcome to the struggle bus have a seat and relax your gong to be on the phone with Metro for some time. Please know this address multiple attempts at porting the same phone number not all the other reasons orders fail on the payment screen. All I can say on that one is , Don't use VPN, don't use discover, don't use a virtual number, wait 48 not 24 hours for your last order attempt to clear out of their system and if you are a religious person…pray

The short version, you must call Metro to make sure any/all the number(s) you are porting over that previously succeed Port Reservation but failed Payment are not locked now to metro reservation once locked to metro they will not work with a new order or another wireless company. This deal is killing me softly, now I remember why I avoided Metro for so long

For those of you having the fraud screen, do this -

Use a VPN
Different credit card #
Add a fake apartment # to your address (if you live in a house)

This has worked for me in the past.

Use lower case first and last name. It seems to be working for me. I'll be ordering a 3rd one Tuesday. I will trade all of them at T-Mobile.lol
Has it been confirmed that you can trade this into Tmobile while it is locked?

In December, I was buying a phone on ebay to trade into tmobile. I actually called tmobile first in setting up the iPhone 17 purchase with trade in. When i gave them the IMEI number, the rep said you cannot trade in this phone because it is locked (I am assuming service locked, not financially locked). I didn't know that was a rule (and i am still not sure if that's correct). What about people bringing their phones from Verizon/ATT to tmobile? Do they have to get them unlocked before they can trade them in? This being a MVNO of T-Mobile makes it even more unique of a situation.

I wonder if the phone I was going to buy at ebay was financially locked which may be why it was rejected at tmobile?

And yes i have searched this thread and did not find a definitive answer.

Google Voice works. Just did 3 iPhone 16e.
Did you have to do 3 separate plans/account or just one account/plan and keep adding a new line to transfer for the deal?

iphone 16e is $99, and you only get a $100 rebate if you pay for 3 months.
Do you have to do the 3 months + rebate 100 to get the inital cost of 99 for the 16e + tax or can you just do the port in and 16e and then cancel after one months service?

do we need to do the 3 month service or if skipping the 100 gc, just cancel after 1 month to get the phone for 99.99

keep it on one account. you get a discount when adding the second line ($30 instead of $55)

quick guide of how i ported google voice number in:

1) ordered the moto g stylus 2025 first. new number, no port-in needed. $55

2) after shipment, activate it by using the order status link [metrobyt-mobile.com]

3) after delivery, put in sim and go through phone setup

4) pay $3 in google voice to unlock number. get port account number and pin [reddit.com]

5) open up chrome in guest mode and log into metro site. you will need the new phone number, metro password pin, and sms text verification code

6) add a new line -> choose iphone 13 -> enter google voice number for port-in -> it should show the $30 price

7) go through checkout using the port info above (i used my own zip code). after entering port info, the page said the port was still processing and to wait a few minutes

8) after a few minutes it went through and then let me enter my cc info to finish checkout ($30)

skip the $100 gc unless you want to use their service

(you need to pay for the 4th month to get the gift card, and there's no guarantee it will come automatically. you may have to call in and deal with it which is more manual work)

Since google voice and visible won't work anymore, what's the cheapest way to port in for metro nowadays?EDIT: after reading the comments on this thread, I see that many people are reporting that a google voice number can be ported over to metro again (like the good old days).
I believe Mobile X is currently one of the cheapest ways to get a number thats eligible for transfers.

Thanks for the guide! Is there a limit to how many iphone 13 or 16e you can do for this method? Debating which ones is better or might get both. So have to wait for the moto g to arrive and setup before placing the order for the 13/16e?

ive seen reports of limit 2 for the iphone 16e, but ive also seen reports of some people able to order a third

iphone 13 im not sure about. you'd have to try your luck and hope for the best

you only need to wait if you want the $55->$30 discount. that requires you to log in and add a new line

however, you could also just try to set up a new account with different email/cc if you dont mind paying the full $55

Yeah I think that's how it works. You'll pay the 99 plus whatever required plan at checkout. Up to you if you want to continue service to collect the GC

Thanks all for the tips in this thread.

One question - If I'm going the one month route, after I have received the devices and they are fully activated, do I need to manually login to my account(s) and "cancel" the service for each one (iPhone, g stylus 2025, Galaxy Tab, etc) or just ensure autopay is off so it doesn't auto renew?

No, just pay $3.

Yes, you can. Phones are fine if locked to carrier as long as it's fully owned and physically in good condition with no water damage.

We traded 6 Metro iPhone 12 to T-Mobile for our upgrades last year. Was waiting for iPhone 13 to go down to free with one month plan. Time to stock up for at least a couple of upgrades.
