Ok your account number is just your GV phone number and your pin is your "call to listen" pin that you set up in the settings of GV. You first have to pay $3 to unlock the GV number.

Porting and failed attempts to order the phone. FYI if you go through the last step and Metro reserved the number you are porting in. But you failed, their payment screen and your order did not go through. Be advised that that number(s) that you attempted to port (no atter how many different phone numbers) are locked in Metro Port Reservation. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO USE THAT NUMBER to process new order using that same # until you call Metro and ask to be transferred over to the porting department and ask them to delete the port. You will also not be able to port it anywhere else until they delete the port reservation. So, all you folks that tried to process a zillion orders after your initial order failed it will never work (even if you fix why your payment didn't go through) until YOU CALL METRO to fix your PORT. With all that said the port dept will want to verify you and the easiest way is for them to send you a SMS to your metro phone so your you don't have a Metro phone working well welcome to the struggle bus have a seat and relax your gong to be on the phone with Metro for some time. Please know this address multiple attempts at porting the same phone number not all the other reasons orders fail on the payment screen. All I can say on that one is , Don't use VPN, don't use discover, don't use a virtual number, wait 48 not 24 hours for your last order attempt to clear out of their system and if you are a religious person…pray

The short version, you must call Metro to make sure any/all the number(s) you are porting over that previously succeed Port Reservation but failed Payment are not locked now to metro reservation once locked to metro they will not work with a new order or another wireless company. This deal is killing me softly, now I remember why I avoided Metro for so long

Since google voice and visible won't work anymore, what's the cheapest way to port in for metro nowadays?

EDIT: after reading the comments on this thread, I see that many people are reporting that a google voice number can be ported over to metro again (like the good old days).

I did 2 16e. Was trying to get one 13. But after the new number is verfied for port in, it's not allowing me to add to cart, going back to same page .

I was able to add a 3rd 16e to cart but after I selected the plan and then the address, it's not moving forward, staying in same screen!

I just ordered the phone, and was sent email saying it will ship soon. But when I try to log into Metro using the phone number I am porting over and using the PIN I set up, it keeps failing saying "‪Sorry, but we were unable to save your changes. Please try again." I tried setting a new PIN, but when it sends the text to the number I am porting, nothing comes through. How will I be able to activate if I cannot log into their system?

You will be able to go to your account only after you receive the phone and activate it.

Once they ship the phone and you receive an email, activate online using the following link:
https://www.metrobyt-mobile.com/order-status

And once you receive the phone and complete the setup process, the activation will be completed.

I only discovered Metro about two years ago - when I was looking for cheaper phones as bullet-proof trade-ins (I'm on T-Mobile postpaid). My first time was the most exciting experience - I got a whopping 8 devices under one account within a month: 5 iPhone 12's (on one plan) and 3 Androids (on another plan). Was hoping Metro would bring back iPhone 14 (for trade-in after 18's release in the fall), but it doesn't look like it's going to happen. Bye-bye good old days!

You can only port out the number while it's active, before the 1st month ends.

First time ordering one if I port out to a different carrier before the line ends will it still unlock after 365 days? I don't know if porting the line would affect the 1 year auto unlock.
