Buy now as Netflix will almost certainly kill WB's physical media (including HBO) once the merger gains regulatory approval.

This was like the Roman version of Game of Thrones with all the boobs, incest, and political backstabbing. Really enjoyed it!

Too bad it never got the seasons to conclude the story. Shows don't usually grip me as fast as that one did.

Any chance it doesn't gain regulatory approval? Isn't Netflix already too Big, and wouldn't that acquisition make it a monopoly?

If that happens, I'm canceling HBO Max.

As mentioned, if you enjoy Game of Thrones you will enjoy this series. It ended way too soon.

Bro. Microsoft acquiring Blizzard. That was Big. You think they're gonna stop Netflix from acquiring HBO? It's gonna happen, my dude.

Why ten discs if Blu-Ray and just 22 episodes? Multiple formats? Also, while the price was $9.99 yesterday, this appears to be Amazon's regular price.

In fairness I believe it was only going to be a miniseries. But it was so popular they forced a 2nd season out of it.

Either way, great series. HBO was crushing it at the time. I'm a bit nostalgic thinking back to circa 2005ish, the early days of HD television, still paying for cable, being a young professional before a wife and kids ate up all my money! 🤣

This and Deadwood were top tier shows.

The first season was top tier entertainment. The second season was far lesser quality.

If I recall correctly, while the suits were debating whether or not to give the show a third season there was a fire that destroyed a large portion of the sets. That made the decision easy for management.
