How does this compare to Costco's TCL Q77K?

The TCL Q77K is said to have poor brightness issues. Read the reviews at Costco and I almost bought that TV. I ended up paying a little bit more and getting the QM6K Pro at Costco. There 3 to 5 year warranty and easy return policy is a nice perk for buying TV's there.

I saw that Toshiba m550 has local dimming, not sure but if that has local dimming, that would be a lot better

Bought a cheap Hisense in the past. Stopped turning on after 2 years, replaced the main board bought on eBay that wouldn't decrypt my cable box, that one lasted a year and I couldn't find another main board available online. While troubleshooting I saw many folks experiencing similar problems on forums

From what I've read these panels use worse power supplies than samsung and tcl/lg (mid tier I believe).

ruvamsi alluded to a similar thing with their main board.

My hisense also died within 2 years of purchasing @ costco. I was under the assumption that it was nature related (had a bad storm @ the time), which is not covered.
So I swapped the main board/psu/t-con board and it fixed it for 2-3 months until it died again (no storm activity of any kind at the time).

I live in Oklahoma and we have storms from time to time. It seems the components in these are not good in this type of environment where power fluctuations occur either from storms or bad grid setup. If you have a whole home surge protection or just a good surge protection device or ups that can catch these fluctuations and prevent strain, you should be okay.

My friends mother has a vizio and a hisense all running for around 5+ years and there's for sure others w/ similar experiences. The quality was great on the a65k I got, but failing within 2 years and the replacement components within 2 months is too much for me.

It's a $250 TV. You just got to throw it out imo
