It's pretty wild that a 50" TV costs less than groceries these days

I personally think the 55 inch for $30 more is the better deal

Who makes Pioneer nowadays since it's nothing but a name slapped on

If I am not mistaken they are Chinese TCL now. Its unfortunate that many of the names we have come to trust for items keep getting bought out and then become rebranded garbage.

The 55" Mitsubishi Diamond rear projection TV was the bomb back in the late 90's at $5K! I could not even get someone to pick that thing up as a give-away, donation or 800-JUNK about 5 years ago and still remember watching the local garbage truck crunch it up thinking how that was the worst money I had ever spent.

Pioneer was such a great brand in 90's and 2000's. Ever since it changed its logo it gone downhill, same as Aiwa.

It did make its own TV for a brief period.

I have the 70" version of this in my garage.

Decent TV and roku menu is responsive.
It is an economy TV but for the price if you're not a TV snob will be fine.

for $30, is the 5 year extra warranty worth it? how is their geek squad servicing after buying? the coverage in print sounds good. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/tv-h...4152111966

Depends on the screen quality and your preference of operating system. I prefer Roku over Fire TV and the Pioneer also looks to have an additional HDMI input (for 4) over the Insignia (which has 3). The Insignia F50 screen appears to be quantum dot but has pretty limited viewing angles according to RTINGS. I can't seem to find much info on the screen quality specs of the Pioneer.

I have the Xumo version of the 43" 4K one and it does have 4:4:4 chroma for crispy text. Probably one of the cheapest 43" 4K computer monitor on the market right now... Roku is infinitely better than Xumo.

Worked at Best Buy during the wega days. Can confirm. Also dropped a Toshiba on my head as well, unloading a truck.
