(I don't know what any of this means) but most reviews say that the transducer is too large to use on a kayak. Amazon combines all reviews/sizes into one section though so not sure - sorry.

Same question I have. Anyone have a recommendation for a fishing kayak fish finder?

Garmin Striker 4 variants work great on kayaks, I have one on my 10' Vibe (though I've upgraded to a jet boat I use more often now).

I fish a Lowrance Hook Reveal 7 which is roughly the same size out of a 2011 Hobie Outback. If your yak doesn't have a built in transducer cutout, you can use a tansducer "arm". This is a bracket that hangs over the side that you attach the transducer to, allowing you to raise and lower it at will. There are a ton for sale on Amazon, Cabelas, etc. This is a nice unit, and the side scan is incredibly helpful in indentifying fish on either side of you. Hope this helps

I'm seeing a filter in reviews where you can just view
"Style: EAGLE 7" TripleShot "
But then you're only left with 8 matching customer reviews

unfortunately it's not a really positive result.

I have this unit from a previous sale that I got... even before I had a kayak! SDing at its finest - LOL

This transducer is long due to the side scan functionality and is a little cumbersome. As @chino038, I use the a transducer arm that hangs off the side of the yak (exact one here: https://a.co/d/0cu60Gti). Some kayaks have cutouts to accommodate this transducer and some companies even create specialized adapters to use through a scupper hole. I did desire to install this in the bottom (researched it heavily) but nothing was great so I went with the arm off the side. It works fine but does create drag when you are trying to paddle to a spot so you have to lift the transducer and then you kind of lose some functionality but its an ok trade off.

Regardless if it could fit on my Old Town PDL106's transducer mount or not, after watching this review of the Lowrance Eagle 7 I stopped looking further.

Always heard nothing but good things about the Garmin Vivid 7sv. Holding out for now, since fishing is fun enough without electronics.
