didbthey extend batman? i thought they changed the game after December?

It's kind of a meh deal... just my opinion. I wouldn't expect deep discounts right now. With tariffs and strong demand around AI hardware, we could even see suggested retail prices creep up. And with the next Meta Quest headset likely more than a year away and rumored to be a lighter design with a battery pack you keep in your pocket... I don't see major price drops happening soon.
Walmart has had the Meta Quest 3s at $249 for nearly three weeks now. The best deals were around Black Friday... Costco probably had the strongest offer at $200 plus a 12 month subscription.
Keep in mind, if you actually use it much, you'll probably want a better head strap... possibly one with a built-in battery pack. Since the 3s is the more bare bones version of the Quest 3, you'll get slightly longer battery life, but realistically expect about 2 to 2½ hours max.
As a 3D nerd, I'm excited that Disney+ added a native app and I'm hoping true 3D movies on Quest might eventually happen.
Before you activate it, don't forget to create your account and accept a friend's referral (see reddit) you can get a $30 credit, which is a nice bonus on top of Batman: Arkham Shadow and the 3-month trial of Meta Horizon+.

It was extended through December 2026. If it doesn't show after activation, contact support... they'll fix it. And be sure to use a referral before activating to get the bonus credit.

Good info. Thanks! So do you think it's worth getting at this price, or wait till the Quest 4s comes out? Assuming there will be a Quest 4s.

The Quest 3S came out in 2024 and the Quest 3 came out in 2023. The next Quest will likely cost 499 to 699 so 249 now is a very good deal at Walmart while Amazon prices are higher again. You can also get a warranty, free game , 3 month trial and 30 dollar referral credit if you do it before you turn it on. If you are not ready you can wait because the next Quest should be a big upgrade. If you want the best picture and lenses now you should get Quest 3 or wait for the next one.
