I love android 8.8inch devices they are perfect, it is all about the screen size. There is nothing like this at this size, it is a premium 8 inch device. The Samsung 8 inch tabs are crap jittery and really bad wifi for me. If you get a bigger screen it is harder to hold to watch things, can't pocket it, you look strange staring at a giant tab in public. You can do whatever you want Torrent Emulate whatever, Apple can't stop you. I use this the more than my phone, laptops, or desktop. You can fit this in your normal pants pocket if you are a guy. I was going to get a foldable but this is better than a foldable. I mean the screen ratio on the foldables is completely off. I normally use this to watch youtube and use Samsung Internet with adblock. I use the nova launcher for better launcher customization. Battery lasts all day sometimes all week. It is maybe 6-8 hours normal use youtube / internet. Totally offline video music and movies maybe 12 hrs. High fps gaming eats battery might get around 4 don't do high end gaming other than when I got it.

I have the Gen2 I imported last year Chinese version just have to enable google store. This is my favorite device by a longshot (I have this , 10inch Surface go, Surface pro 11 13 inch, Tab 12inch). My biggest consideration BEFORE buying it was that it was LCD and I haven't seen a good LCD phone or tablet I thought you need an OLED. This LCD is just perfect for anything you want to do it is an amazing high refresh rate gaming panel. I had an oled Samsung 10 inch tab I sold for a tab 12inch oled and this is very comparable. Whereas my 1k tab does not have a snapdragon this does and it is very noticeable if you use streaming (steam in house) there is something wrong with the latency on all MediaTek devices it is lacking something. The CPU is very fast and the Samsung Tab 11 12 inch OS seems worse than this mostly because it is not as easy to use one handed. Looking to sell my Tab I never use it just use my 8.8 gen 2.

Also this has video out you can mirror the screen as is or have a second screen external output like a DEX mode. I take this with me on trips and can watch movies on any hotel tv with a cheap usbc to HDMI adapter. I just love it and can't live without it really.

This is just so compact you can take it in your pocket it is 12cm, guy with 32 waist fits okay in my pockets not super comfy sitting down but it works. Holding it up doesn't tire out your hands like Anything larger than this. Screen is a much bigger than my Note Ultra and I much prefer watching vids on this. This has no Micro SD card like mine does but get a tiny USB C drive if you really think you need expandablity. You can use this as a small second monitor for a Windows laptop using various software which i do in a pinch. There is a pen that works very well for note taking and also just get a Bluetooth Keyboard and maybe Mouse for light work.
I really don't actually use more than 148gb loaded with games and maybe 10 gigs of videos.
Downside is if you get it submerged it will break (waterdrop res only). Software upgrade policy not the best. Android store will work and gives you updates to your apps but OS updates not great.

Speaking as someone who has been an avid Nova Launcher user for well over a decade, please strongly consider replacing it with something else.

Branch has sold Nova Launcher to an even shadier company who is now loading up Nova Launcher to the gills with ads and trackers. Even Nova Prime users are reporting seeing ads in the app drawer... Full-screen ads complete with sound.

The Nova Launcher we used to know and love is truly dead now.

I kept hearing that about Gen 4 but it was never available in the US from Lenovo, so you're stuck buying from eBay with a questionable warranty. Not to mention that will most likely be $600+

Bought a light used one in mint condition for $240 plus tax and shipping for 275 otd. I like it much more than the ipad mini a17 mainly bc of the 144hz display. Paired it with a g8 plus controller and its a excellent gaming machine too

I bought this about a month and a half ago and it's been a fantastic tablet. Very portable, very light, very peppy. Pretty good battery life. Software isn't that bloated. Great IPS screen. If you're looking for OLED, and you want the brightness that comes from that, then you probably should get a different tablet, but it'll cost more.

Was going to get this and went with the yoga tab. Same specs throughout but with android 15, larger screen, keyboard and pen included. Very similar in price and very pleased with it.
I'm about to buy this one too. Right now it comes down to $361 with the promo code EXTRAFIVE and senior IDme discount. I was also looking at the Ideatab Pro around $247 but that's basically end of life now with Android updates and a somewhat dim screen. How is the magnetic stand that comes with the Yogatab? Can you adjust it to a few different viewing angles? Is it firm enough that you can use it (without the keyboard attached) propped up on your stomach or legs while lying down or is it only good on a tabletop? Or is it a lot more stable lying down and using it with the keyboard attached?

Likewise, with coupon and the folio keyboard case I found more practical to get. Also on paper they look to be the same tablet spec wise

It's not the size that counts, it's how you use it!

The Gen 4 also has an incompatibility with some wifi bands in the US

Yes you can adjust it to multiple angles and is very solid during typing.

Two different types of devices. This is a gaming tablet. It has performance overlays, different passive cooling, and two USB c ports.

Two different devices. This is for gaming. There are several specific features like USBC on the side and bottom.

This is purely a gaming device so the 8" screen is perfect for that. If you need productivity, then the other Yoga tab is a better deal.
