The lack of security patches is concerning. Especially since the watch does seem to get integrated pretty well with your device and/or personal information. There is probably a very low risk of your watch being compromised. But it's still a frustrating thing to keep in the back of your mind.
So keep all of this in mind when buying an older Pixel Watch model. Yes, you are saving money for a device that could function for many years. But you want to avoid using something that may ignore security vulnerabilities, then paying half price for a device with half of it's lifespan removed isn't as tempting.

These are a lot more capable and versatile than just health and fitness tracking.
Think about your use cases though. For me an accurate heart rate tracker is most important and the PW3 rates as one of the best. I use this for fitness mostly and and the battery lasts close to 2 days fo rme.
some of the brightest, most successful people on the planet do not use smart watches. they have their dumb, fancy watches, and that's it. i used a fitbit to track my heart rate but in the end, i realized it doesn't matter. i just got a casio with a timer on it and it will probably outlive me.
